To accommodate expected parking demand for the Commencement ceremony at 1 p.m., Friday May 12, the following parking areas will be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday, May 11, through 2 p.m., Friday, May 12:
- Cone Decks 1 and 2 – Faculty/Staff and Visitor parking
- West Deck
- Lot 7 (on University Road between West Deck and Cone Deck)
- Lot 7A (at Memorial Hall)
- SAC Handicap Parking
- SAC North Faculty/Staff Parking
These parking alternatives are recommended for faculty/staff:
- East Deck 1 (for those who have premium gate access and normally park in Cone Deck Faculty/Staff Parking)
- East Deck 3
- South Village Deck
Note: These decks are serviced by the Campus Shuttle with stops at the Reese curb and the Popp Martin Student Union.
- Campus Shuttle Yellow Route 47 stops at the front of South Village Deck and immediately goes to the Reese curb and continues on to East Deck 1 and the Student Union. This is the best and quickest route running from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Green Route 49 serves South Village Deck, East Deck and the Student Union with a stop at North Deck (making the trip a bit longer).
- For information on these schedules try the UNC Charlotte NextRide app available free at the App Store for Apple, Android and Blackberry. The app provides real-time tracking of the buses with estimated stop times. Refer to the UNC Charlotte NextRide website.
