The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Southeast District recently honored the University Communications Office’s installment of the Live Wire webcast about the University's archaeological dig at Mount Zion, Jerusalem. The program, now on YouTube, was produced using footage filmed in the field in Jerusalem. CASE recognized UComm with an award for online innovation and experimentation.

In the national AVA Digital Awards competition, which honors combined private-sector and nonprofit achievements in audiovisual communications, UComm received platinum awards for the capital campaign mobile app, produced with Snavely Associates, for EXPONENTIAL—The Campaign for UNC Charlotte and Super Bowl Social Showdown completed during Super Bowl 50 in collaboration with the University of Colorado Denver. Also, UCOMM was recognized with a gold award for the video "Miss Bonnie's Shovel"  and won honorable mention for the EXPONENTIAL campaign video “The Power of Pride” that featured assistant drum major Madelyn Colby.

“UNC Charlotte has many great stories to tell, and it is gratifying for the University Communications team to be recognized for the innovative, creative ways it is telling these stories,” said Stephen Ward, executive director of University Communications.
