The University’s PORTAL Building will be the site of a major announcement by Atom Power, co-founded by UNC Charlotte alumnus Ryan Kennedy. This event will be 3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, in the atrium of PORTAL.
Atom Power, which opened in PORTAL in May 2015, has created an end-to-end solid-state power distribution ecosystem to make commercial power safer, visible and controllable. Currently, the organization employs seven UNC Charlotte graduates as full-time employees, and it offers student internships and has sponsored senior design projects through the Lee College of Engineering.
Kennedy, chief executive officer of Atom Power, is a Charlotte native; he completed a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering magna cum laude.
