Ogunjobi is first 49er to participate in Senior Bowl

Charlotte 49ers defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi will participate in the 68th annual Reese’s Senior Bowl on Jan. 28, in Mobile, Ala. He is the first 49er selected to join in this prestigious event, which attracts, the top 110 seniors and fourth-year junior graduates in the nation to form rosters for the North and South squads.

This season, Ogunjobi, the 49ers career record-holder for tackles (212), TFL (48.5) and sacks (12.5), is tied for first in Conference USA with 11 TFL in C-USA games only and tied for third overall with 13 TFL in all games. Among C-USA’s defensive linemen, he ranks first in tackles in C-USA games only (48; 6.9) and first in all games (60; 5.5). He tied his own school record with 4.5 TFL versus FIU and ranks eighth among active FBS players with 48.5 career TFL. He anchors a defense that ranks third in C-USA in run defense (146.8 allowed). He is the lone 49er to start every game in school history.
