UNC Charlotte is launching a four-day certificate program in September on the topic of “Design Thinking,” a methodology associated with companies such as Apple, which rely upon the process to innovatively design products and cultivate customer loyalty.

Offered by the University’s Continuing Education Office, the Design Thinking Certificate program is intended to meet the growing demand for businesses and organizations looking for leaders who are steeped in Design Thinking. The program is open to the public, and UNC Charlotte faculty and staff members are eligible for a 50 percent discount off the regular registration fee.

“Students of the UNC Charlotte Design Thinking certificate program will leave with an understanding of the methodology — from discovering opportunities for innovation, to generating ideas, to prototyping and testing and launching new products and services,” said Margaret Rozzi, program director for UNC Charlotte Continuing Education and Extended Academic Programs. “The certificate will equip graduates with the tools to see opportunities and approach complex challenges in their everyday work in a whole new way.”

The four-day cohort of Design Thinking Certificate program participants will meet 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, Sept. 19-22, at UNC Charlotte Center City. More information and enrollment details are on the program website.
