Bradley to assume chief of staff post

Kim Bradley has been appointed chief of staff by UNC Charlotte Chancellor Philip L. Dubois, effective Aug. 1. Her selection resulted from a national search that involved more than 170 individuals who applied for or were nominated for the post.

Bradley spent the last 13 years working in public school districts in Syracuse, New York, and Providence, Rhode Island, in various roles, including chief of staff, chief communications officer and director of public engagement and government relations. Prior to that, she led community relations efforts while working in the Office of the Governor of Rhode Island.

Dubois said Bradley’s “varied experience prepares her well for the vital role of chief of staff, and we anticipate valuable contributions from her as a key campus leader and member of the Chancellor's Cabinet."

Bradley, who recently relocated from New York to the Charlotte area, noted, "UNC Charlotte is brimming with positive energy and momentum, and this (position) is very appealing to me. I am honored to have been chosen as the chief of staff of such a dynamic institution."

A graduate of Boston University, Bradley completed a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a marketing concentration; her Master of Public Administration is from the University of Rhode Island.

She fills the position recently vacated by Krista Newkirk, who left UNC Charlotte to assume the presidency of Converse College in Spartanburg, S.C.
