Register for Camps on Campus

Monday, February 8, 2016

UNC Charlotte's Camps on Campus offers children and young people the opportunity to join scientists, researchers, educators, writers and actors in the creative atmosphere of a college campus. Camp offerings this year include robotics, space exploration, Minecraft and smart art. More information about this year’s program can be found on the Camps on Campus website.

For this year, Camps on Campus has partnered with Play-Well TEKNOLOGIES and Youth Digital to provide additional camps. Play-Well TEKNOLOGIES offers a half-day LEGO engineering camp for first through sixth grades, and Youth Digital offers a full-day app design and character animation camp for grades three through nine. Youth Digital campers will receive online course access and online support through Dec. 31, 2016.

Parents also will have the opportunity to purchase an optional discounted, tax-free, weekly meal plan for their campers to Crown Commons in the Student Union. Crown Commons, a buffet-style dining facility, offers an array of options, including a salad bar, home-style meal station, pizza and a grill, as well as a soft-serve ice cream station.

Last summer, nearly 1,000 children participated in Camps on Campus. Parents said had rave reviews about the program and staff.

“Camps on Campus offered enough challenge and projects to keep campers engaged and wanting to come back each day,” said one parent. Another stated: “My camper did not want to go but attended because I made him. By the third day, he was willing, and by the fourth day, he thanked me for sending him to the camp.”

Registration for the 2016 Camps on Campus is now open.
