Congressman Richard Hudson, UNC Charlotte alumnus (Class of 1996) and former student body president, met with members of the EPIC Advisory Board April 17 to talk about energy issues and his work on the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee. He also had the opportunity to gather members’ input and feedback on issues and challenges in the energy sector.

Hudson stated, “It's incredible to see my University at the cutting edge of energy infrastructure development. The work EPIC is doing will greatly elevate North Carolina's role in providing affordable, reliable energy to folks across the nation, and I look forward to partnering with UNC Charlotte as we continue this exciting program."

UNC Charlotte, through EPIC, can enhance the region’s energy workforce, advance energy technology and research and facilitate strategic industry-University collaboration for the global energy industry, said Johan Enslin, EPIC director and Duke Energy Distinguished Chair in Power Engineering Systems.

“EPIC is a valuable resource for the energy industry; companies can turn to us for new and creative solutions in the field, and UNC Charlotte is educating the next generation of engineers and management professionals for the energy sector. We were pleased to have the opportunity to meet with Congressman Hudson to discuss how the University is having an impact,” added Enslin.
