“Patchwork Epiphany: Art Gallery and Silent Auction” will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday, April 2, at UNC Charlotte Center City. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Levine’s Children Hospital.

Levine Scholar Noelle Cornelio is organizing the event, which is an outgrowth of a community engagement project that she began last year. She and other student volunteers started teaching art to Levine Children’s Hospital patients and their families. Last year, there was a gallery display featuring the works.

“This year, there will be an art auction in support of children’s programming at the hospital,” said Cornelio, a senior originally from Holmdel, N.J. She is majoring in biology and economics with a minor in mathematics. “Patchwork Epiphany seeks to foster a love for the arts, while raising awareness about pediatric illnesses. It will be an evening filled with art, and there will be live music and a dessert reception.”

There will be approximately 20 artworks on which attendees can bid.
