The College of Health and Human Services has received a grant from the Lettie Pate White Foundation to benefit students in the nursing and allied health professions.
For the current academic year, the White Foundation has pledged more than $160,000, which will provide scholarships for female students with demonstrated financial need. To date, the foundation has awarded more than $1 million to the college.
UNC Charlotte is one of 200 institutions to participate annually in the scholarship program, which focuses its charitable efforts on nine southeastern states. The University will establish guidelines for awarding the scholarships.
More than 10,000 students receive scholarships each year from the Lettie Pate White Foundation. In addition, the foundation awards annual grants to elderly care facilities, including nursing homes and hospices.
