Ambassadors from Monaco, Barbados to speak

John Beale, ambassador of Barbados, and Gilles Noghès, ambassador of Monaco, will speak at 3:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11, in the J. Murrey Atkins Library, Halton Reading Room, as part of the fifth annual International Speaker Series.

The two ambassadors will talk about their respective countries; following both presentations, there will be an opportunity for audience discussion. Beale will be joined by Rhoda Green, honorary consul of Barbados from Charleston, S.C. Charlotte-based nonprofit Allegro Foundation… A Champion for Children with Disabilities is coordinating this installment of the International Speaker Series.

Faculty members are encouraged to bring their students to the presentations. Contact the Office of International Programs to reserve space or make arrangements for extra credit attendance sign-in sheets.

The International Speaker Series is free and open to the campus community; presentations are in collaboration with Atkins Library and the Department of Global, International and Area Studies, the Office of International Programs and the World Affairs Council of Charlotte.

Economist and author Philip Auerswald will lecture at the series’ second event on Thursday, Jan. 24.
