Career Center to host Part-time Job Fair

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

The University Career Center (UCC) will host its annual Part-time Job Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2, in the Cone University Center, Lucas Room.

Representatives from employers, such as Autobell Car Wash, Fastenal Company, Greater Media Charlotte, New Hope Treatment Centers, ON24 and Tutor Doctor, will attend the fair to recruit candidates for off-campus part-time, seasonal and temporary employment.  An updated list of registered organizations is available online.  According to UCC officials, the fair is a great opportunity for students seeking ways to earn extra money for school, as well as to gain valuable experience.

Faculty members are encouraged to announce this event to their classes, and students attending should dress in business casual or business attire and bring resumes for recruiters.  The UCC can critique resumes or assist students with beginning a resume during daily drop-in hours.  Additional part-time, off-campus job opportunities are posted through the UCC’s NinerJobNet database as part of the Job Location and Development (JLD) Program.

Formerly held in August in conjunction with UNC Charlotte’s Week of Welcome, the Part-time Job Fair was moved based on employer feedback. It is open only to UNC Charlotte students and alumni.  Direct questions to Rebecca Cody.
