Sustainability workshop ‘Producing Waste and Pollution’ scheduled

Event Date:
April 27, 2017 - 4:00 PM
Location:
Popp Martin Student Union, Room 340

UNC Charlotte is preparing to update its Campus Sustainability Plan in 2017-18. The first step is to identify the University’s top goals as a framework for detailed recommendations and timelines.

The Sustainability Office is holding a series of workshops and online surveys to enable members of the campus community to provide input.

The workshop “Producing Waste and Pollution” is scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, April 27, in the Popp Martin Student Union, Room 340.

The UNC Charlotte campus serves many purposes, including school, workplace, home, destination and park. These activities generate waste and pollution that the campus must safely and responsibly remove, minimize, and when possible, eliminate. Reducing the production of waste and pollution have environmental, health, aesthetic and financial benefits. Diversion of waste to re-use, recycling, composting or energy production can have financial benefits to the campus and region.
