UNC Charlotte’s Graduate School is sponsoring a “Three Minute Thesis” pilot competition in 2017. This academic event will challenge doctoral students to describe their research in three minutes to a general audience.

The University’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 19, in the Atkins Library, Halton Reading Room. For this pilot, only Ph.D. students will be able to compete.

Winners will receive cash prizes and may have the chance to represent the University at a regional competition.

The University of Queensland developed 3MT competitions to cultivate students’ academic, presentation and research communication skills.

More details about the Jan. 19 pilot competition, including how to register, are on the web.
