In a time when the world is facing instances of conflict and injustice, the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences is seeking artwork that reflects students’ perspectives on peace and justice for use on the college's holiday card.

“Each year, we send an original holiday card to friends of our college,” said Dean Nancy A. Gutierrez. “For the past two years, we have showcased student art. This year, as we think about the growing diversity of the students, faculty and staff in our college and consider the challenges our world faces, we wanted to do more.”

The holiday card provides an opportunity for students to express what peace and justice mean to them, Gutierrez said. The contest is open to undergraduate and graduate students whose academic majors or minors are in the college. The winner’s artwork will be published online, as well as on the physical card, and he or she will receive a monetary prize.

The college seeks original photographs, paintings, drawings or other visual artwork that reflects concepts or scenes relevant to justice and/or peace.

The submission deadline is 5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 24. Click here for the rules, entry form and other information.
